ADHD Rules
About Me

Hi, my name is Bob Stickles. I have ADHD. I also like to call it, super brain. I guess if you are looking up ADHD or ADD you might know someone with it or you have it. Well congratulations!
Here’s some background on how I decided to start ADHD RULES. I have your typical story of ADHD and Dyslexia. I had a very hard time in school, have a great imagination, am a very fast thinker, very sensitive, have excellent problem solving capabilities and unbelievable focus on things I like to do.
Now let’s really get into my story, I had problems with drugs and alcohol in my early twenties. At that time I had no clue about ADHD or Dyslexia or even knew I had a learning disability. In my world people called it just being slow or stupid.
Then a miracle happened, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Colitis. Some people would not say that is a gift but it changed my life. Long story short, I became motivated to become healthy and ended up teaching myself meditation. I cured myself using meditation and the amazing skill of focus. At that moment I realized I can do anything.
In my early thirties I decided I wanted to learn how to write and I went to a friend who was learning the Wilson Reading program where I first heard the word Dyslexia. With that great skill of problem solving I learned how to write and create. I did not let anything stop me, and now I build this websites and write pages for my website for every month’s My Thought page. I am really proud of myself every time a new thought page comes out. If you want to read them please go to home on the left side of this page and check it out.
Ok, where was I in the story? Now I have been meditating for twenty years. I am in my late forties. I had heard of ADHD but never took the time to read about it and since I meditate twice a day I felt I had found a way to focus my active mind. I have been running a meditation class for the last 10 years, full of teachers and psychotherapists and people with kids and everyday people. I would hear the terms ADHD and ADD and ask them why they were putting labels on kids. They would look at me and say “Bob, you are ADHD” and I would laugh.
Then one occupational therapist suggested I run a class teaching people with ADD and ADHD how to meditate. Before I do anything I read up on it and start problem solving and ask how I can help with meditation. As I started reading it was like someone wrote a book about me. I started digesting book after book on ADHD/ADD. I was not looking for a cure, if there was one it should be for everyone else so they could catch up with me! My life is great, I look to solve the challenges that ADHD comes with but, the gifts of ADHD outweigh the challenges all the time. I am opening this website to inspire you and your loved ones that might have this super brain to find your way and bring yourself to a life of unbelievable hope. I want to help you realize dreaming is life that has not happened yet. I love my ADHD. I would not know how I would live without it. If you have it this website is here to celebrate our gifts. If you want to send your story, I will post it. Our stories will be hope for someone in despair.
